Wrong ICPs, and do we really solve a problem

Today we had 2 more demos, and 2 fell off. On one side, our product is positioned to help acquisition teams getting a lot of inbound, like 50 deals a day. Both of the firms we talked to today only do about 10 deal analyses a week, so they aren't really our ICP.

On the other hand, after a long brainstorm, I think repositioning the product around finding micro and macro data, and acting more like a deal pipeline, would put us in a better spot overall. Not fully sure yet, but that's the direction I want to test.

Conversations like this are always valuable. The most important thing is understanding why they said no, because if you don't get that, you don't learn anything from it. And if you're not learning, you're dying in the startup space.

Also, the product is fully ready for production now, so I've mostly shifted to finding the right ICPs, and even some early prep for the fundraising process. We don't plan to fundraise soon, but having the right pitch deck doesn't just help you understand the problem better, it helps you sell better too, with a more coherent story.
